February is Heart Month!

And it's Valentine's Day too!  These hearts go out to all of you with best wishes for a year blessed with love and good health.

And it's HEART MONTH, designated by the American Heart Association.  At Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts, an art co-operative in The Cotton Exchange in Wilmington, NC, we are celebrating this occasion too.  Our resident jeweler/metalsmith, Sara Westermark, and I will be the featured artists of the month in February.

In honor of Heart Month, Sara and I will donate a percentage of our sales for the month to this worthy cause.  An opening  reception will be held on Fourth Friday Gallery Night, January 28 from 6 - 9 PM.  Everyone is invited to see our work, meet us and other member artists, and enjoy an evening of "heart," accompanied by refreshments.  All the work at Port City Pottery & Fine Crafts is lovingly handcrafted by 18 Wilmington-area artists in clay, fiber, wood, precious metals and gems, basketry, gourds, and much more.

While downtown, visit a number of other participating galleries.  Fourth Fridays are fun evenings to stroll around and see the work of local, regional, and national artists.

Heart and red-themed work by both of us will dominate our displays, but be sure to look elsewhere in the gallery for additional designs, styles, materials from Sara and me - but also from the other notable artists who contribute to our unique gallery.
