I'd like to be able to say I've had an epiphany! I'd like to be able to say I've got an incredible, new, never-been-done-before idea for creating fiber art that will astound and astonish the world! I'd love to be able to say that I've found a new fiber love for myself. But....alas......! My new vision is simply cataract surgery!
The "Old" me! The "New" me is not yet fit for human consumption!
My surgery was done on Tuesday, very efficiently, no pain, no major after-effects! It's just that now, while waiting to have the other eye done (weeks down the road!), I find that I can't wear my old glasses (even with the lens removed from the right eye), and the world is a little fuzzy! The "new" right eye has startlingly clear 20/20 vision for distance, but not for reading. The "old" eye still has myopia and presbyiopia as well as a cataract, so it's useful for some reading, but the world as a whole is a little distorted and unclear.
In the meantime, I look like hell! Granted, I haven't taken a shower yet or washed my hair or put on any make-up, but I'm not at all sure that I WANT to go glass-less. Glasses hide a multitude of sins: drooping eyelids, dark circles under the eyes, eyebrow that grow across the face, large nose, etc. Maybe once this is all over, I'll just get myself some cute little glasses to hide all these flaws, see perfectly well, and enjoy my NEW VISION! After all, I've worn glasses (with several years of contact-wearing) since I was 14. Maybe what I really need is a NEW FACE!
Just kidding - I think I don't have the stomach (or the means) for that process!

Wouldn't you know it! Blogger created ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS for me in formatting this post! I thought for a moment my eyes were deceiving me, but no......it simply wouldn't LET me make the corrections. Words were segmented, separated, etc. It was a mess.
I finally had to put all of it into a Word doc, had to reformat and copy it back into Blogger.....and THEN make some minor changes. UGH!!!
Your comments are welcome! Anyone else having problems with Blogger?
Congratulations Louise! Can't wait to see the new and improved you! Good luck and let me know if you need anything at all. I have to ask this ... don't you use Windows Live to make your posts? I couldn't live without it!
Pam, no, I'm a Mac! But I never had trouble with Blogger before. This was really weird! And it was NOT my eyes!
Thanks for your offer, but I am fine! How are YOU?
All the best to your eyes, your brain and your crafty fingers. I cannot imagine having to cope with cataracts, surgery and vision problems AND still be creative.
