Creative Recycling!

I've been a recycler forever - thanks, Mom!  Consequently, I have a hard time throwing away things - ANYTHING!!! - much to my husband's dismay (although he's not too good at tossing anything either!)  So many of my fiber wear accessories leave tiny pieces of yarn to cut off at the completion of a piece.  I HATE to throw them away, so I collect them.  I used to give everything to an artist friend who volunteered with the homeless to make art, but she has stopped that work for the moment.

I've recently been making felted buttons and felted brooches, often leaving small pieces of felted material or silk chiffon scarf scraps - none of which I throw away.  I also make many Loopies, Cachecols, and other accessories that leave lots of yarn ends of about 4 - 6" in length.  Wondering what to do with all those pieces of yarn, ribbon, fiber, roving, prefelt, etc., I've been at a loss - UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF LAST NIGHT!!!

Here are the results!

I won't give the secret away for now.  I'd like to see what reaction there is to these new creations from Louise Giordano and Scarf It Up!

Louise, I LOVE those buttons!! You're such a creative person--I always enjoy seeing what you're up to, and these buttons....AWESOME!
Your creative sparks sound familiar--last week I had my sparks during Pilates class. The first one: I came home and started painting old neckties with fabric paint--Christmas and Chanukkah-themed--and had them for sale at the show on Sat.
Ever watch Medium? We're like the mediums for the art world!

Thank you, Patt! And how did you do at your sale? Where can I see your ties? Or did they all sell!

Thanks so much for your comments. I used to wach Medium, but no more. I wish I had these brainstorms more often!

I didn't take any pictures of the ties..will try to do that this week. I sold the Chanukkah tie, so might have to do another.
The show was pretty good--and I still have about 4 or 5 more shows before mid-Dec. The one last Sat was textiles only (no jewelry), but I have lots to show.
Do you attend any of the Stitches events?
