FREEFORM FREEDOM!

I am NOT a free-spirit kind of lady (although I wish I were!), but I am definitely a freeform creative type.  For anyone who knows the MBTI, you may be surprised to know that I am an ISFJ (just reconfirmed that today right here!) and have been for a long time.  They say that personality type is fairly stable, as it seems to be with me, so it is often surprising to others who know me that I am an introvert by preference.   And the J part (judging in this sense = orderly, organized, structured) doesn't seem to fit with my great desire to push the limits of my creativity and do things that are clearly outside the box.

And so it is that I am enthralled with freeform in just about anything.  If I were to do my house all over again, it would be contemporary with a variety of freeform accessories.  My husband - one of the most conservative guys I know,  creates the most amazing pottery, much of it in freeform design.  Odd, isn't it?

Maybe it's because I spent all of my formative years in a highly structured environment and most of my adult life doing the right things.  Now I want to experience freedom in many aspects of my life, so the most practical way to do that is by designing freeform knit and crochet.

Funky Freeform Crochet Capelet - Back

Here is the latest design - a lightweight, entirely freeform crochet mini-wrap, shawl, capelet - not really sure exactly WHAT it is!  But here are some photos - you can decide if it works or not.

It's a hand-painted sock yarn called INCA Sportlace from Turkey, purchased at Tuesday Morning. BTW, TM periodically has some super yarns, usually high-end and discontinued. It proved to be perfect for this creation in a wool blend.

It is very interesting how we push the Idea of who we are and sneak in new Ideas.

I had to post again to let you know that I took the personality test and I am also an ISFJ! We're in good company. (:

Fascinating. I discovered that I am an ENTJ. Need lots of space to work, leave a huge mess and then go on a big very organized clean up. It must be very hard for my partner to put up with me. Love your cape.
